Recovery from Latissimus Dorsi detachment.
I can’t thank Dr Aaron Horschig at @squat_university enough for all the help through this! The @themarcpro has been a massive help in my recovery! Thank you to @drroddymcgee my Orthopedic Surgon who brilliantly reattached my Lat to my humerus and guidance! Also everyone at @bioxcellerator_ for the The Golden Stem Cells! I am truly blessed to have the best minds around me!

@squat_university This past year strongman @nickbeststrongman ruptured his left lat while attempting a world record deadlift at the Kern Open. Today I want to highlight 3 things Nick has done exceptionally well during his return.
First, he didn’t just sit around. He trained everything he could while allowing the injury to heal. This approach allows athletes to physiologically keep a more positive outlook on the injury process and physically maintain as much capacity as possible so that when they can fully return to training safely, they’re not too far behind their prior status.
Second, he started physical therapy quickly. Optimizing the early rehab process is key to a successful outcome.
Third, he enhanced all forms of recovery – even while playing video games. Notice the arm muscles twitching. You see, your body has an intricate network of veins and arteries that bring blood flow and the associated cells that spark healing to and from the recovering tissues. This sub fatiguing light twitching also optimizing healing as it facilitates the clearance of swelling and other damaged cells that come with injury and heavy training through another network of vessels called the lymphatic system. While blood flow is made possible through the continuous pumping action of the heart, the lymphatic system only works on movement – so using an electrical stimulation device (Nick is using the @themarcpro in this video) mimics movement through muscle contraction and optimizes the healing process – even when you’re not moving.
With this 3 stage approach Nick is crushing his recovery and will be back in no time to smashing big weights!
Shout out Nick for the collaboration in making this video & @3d4medical with the Complete Anatomy app visual of the body.
