Have an Encounter with Intriguing Art at H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum
I remember the first time I discovered the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum, just a 5-minute drive from my home.
A place where you can get totally lost in a world of fascinating art for absolutely free!
I recall strolling into the museum, taken aback by the easy parking and the welcoming ambiance of the place.
The first room my daughter and I ventured into was the fish painting room.
Both of us instantly fell in love with the vibrancy of the colors reflecting the depth and diversity of aquatic life.
We then moved upstairs and were delighted by the panda paintings, beautifully capturing the innocence and charm of these adorable creatures.
Almost every art piece in the museum is the creation of a religious leader.
An amusing mix, it blends modern and historical styles, hyper-realism, and abstract in a way that speaks to the viewer.
One art piece even welcomes touch – it was quite a mind-boggling experience for us.
Walking around, we noticed occasional poems adorning the walls.
My Mandarin reading skills were a bit rusty, but I could still appreciate the emotion in the words.
The volunteers at H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum added to the overall pleasant experience, their sweet nature and appreciation for our interest in the art was heart-warming.
During a quick 40-minute visit, we had to skip the second floor as my 93-year-old dad wasn’t up for climbing the stairs.
I recall leaving with a feeling of fulfillment and a free book filled with more incredible artwork.
